Hello Parents and Guardians,
We are looking forward to a great year at EASY Care! Please check your email for a welcome from me which will include the door code, allergy information, and a tuition reminder! At the start of this week I will be in training with the EASY Care staff getting everyone ready for the start of the year. If you have questions or concerns, please write to my email address, [email protected] and I will respond in the evening or early morning when I am not in training. A couple extra reminders:
We will see you so soon! Warmly, Tori Q: What is special about your campus? A: I think all kids are awesome in their own unique, individual way. But I truly believe we have an awesome bunch! They’re receptive, respectful, willing to lend a helping-hand when asked, and use kind words. Q: What makes Eanes ISD a great place to work? A: As staff, we work as a team, acknowledging our successes alongside areas in which we need to improve, and we address those quickly and efficiently. Eanes ISD is about the kids, and what’s best for them. Thus far, it’s been impossible on any given day to leave work not feeling better than I did when I came in. Q: What do you like to do when you are not at EASY Care? A: I’m a college student. So I enjoy making sure that I’m prepared for my classes, even though I don’t always enjoy studying. I also like spending time with those close to me at coffee shops, and hanging out with my family! Emily was nominated by a coworker. Here’s what they had to say: “After only working with us since December 2017, Emily has shown incredible perseverance. She is really hard-working, quick to resolve issues as they come, and incredibly flexible. I have really enjoyed having her at BPE with me and I have heard nothing but good things from other Providers, as well.” Hello EASY Care Families,
With the end of the year quickly encroaching, I wanted to take a moment to give everyone a quick update about registration for the 2018-19 academic year. Returning families will receive priority registration starting Monday, April 16th. You will receive the email with the password on Thursday of next week. All accounts must be current to receive the returning family registration password. A $50 registration fee will be due at the time of enrollment. August/September tuition will be invoiced and due later in the summer. Below you can see the flyer for the public about registration. Be sure to register before Tuesday, May 1st to guarantee your child(ren)'s space next year at EASY Care. Your space will be filled and given away if you do not register prior to May 1st. Warmly, Tori Where: This year’s camp will take place at Valley View Elementary, 1201 S. Capital of TX Hwy, West Lake Hills, TX 78746 When: Summer Blast runs May 29th until July 27th (Closed the week of July 2nd-6th). We are open from 7:30 AM-5:30 PM, Monday-Friday. Why Eanes ISD: By enrolling your child in Community Education camps and programs, you are supporting Eanes ISD classroom teachers and more! Summer Blast helps EASY Care retain high quality employees from year to year. What To Bring to Camp: Campers should wear comfortable shoes and clothes that they don't mind getting a little dirty. Please pack a lunch. Each day, you will also want to pack your camper a snack for the morning! We will provide each camper with an afternoon snack. Please also be sure everything your child brings to camp is labeled! We ask for campers to leave electronics and Pokemon cards at home. How to Register: Registration is open for Summer 2018! https://eanes.revtrak.net/Child-Care-Payments/ Austin Youth Fitness is excited to start our 2nd session groups in Eanes ISD! We have running groups that meet at Forest Trail, Cedar Creek, Bridge Point, and Eanes; biking groups that meet at Cedar Creek, Eanes Elementary, and Hill Country Middle School; and we have a yoga group that meets at Forest Trail. We like to make fitness fun and something that kiddos will do for the rest of their lives!

A: I have worked at EASY Care since 2014, almost four years. Q: What makes Eanes ISD a great place to work? A: As a Valley View, Hill Country and Westlake graduate, I wanted to give back to a place that truly cares and encourages students and faculty to give their best. Q: What do you like to do when you are not at EASY Care? A: I enjoy reading and going running at Lady Bird Lake. Q: If you didn't have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time? A: I would be involved in more nonprofit organizations that help others. Today at our Lead meeting, the Leads and I are talked about this article. It's is based on studies where children were offered a treat and told they could eat the treat now, but if you can wait for the researcher to return, they would get two treats. The children who waited for the second marshmallow were more likely to have better SAT scores and better jobs later on in life. My favorite quote from the article is as follows
"Because if you think about it, if the child doesn't believe that second marshmallow is actually going to arrive, then it makes sense to eat the first one." My biggest take away from this piece is our students need to trust their environment and Providers to be successful. This is something we have always known, but it is so wonderful to get a science-based reminder sometimes. We spoke about how each child learns and responds differently. Ms. Clem also pointed out how interesting it is being proactive with children's needs and desires. We spoke about how providing things for our children before they express the need for them will help our students feel safe and loved while at EASY Care. I'm excited to see how the EASY Care staff applies this knowledge and helps to foster a warm and nurturing environment for our students. Feel free to check out the article and discuss your thoughts with the EASY Care staff: www.npr.org/sections/goatsandsoda/2017/07/03/534743719/want-to-teach-your-kids-self-control-ask-a-cameroonian-farmer Warmly, Tori Q: How long have you worked at EASY Care?
A: Exactly 1 year this month! Q: What's special about your campus? A: Since I attended elementary school at Valley View, I hold it near and dear to my heart. Q: What do you like to do when you are not at EASY Care? A: When I am not at Easy Care I enjoy working out, playing with my Maine Coon kitten, Finn, and going on adventures. Q: What do you think is the most interesting thing about you? A: I think the most interesting thing about me is the 6 years I spent active duty in the U.S. Navy. It allowed me many opportunities to travel and I am very proud of serving my country. Melissa is celebrating her birthday this Thursday, January 25th! |
