Growing up in my house, Halloween was a big deal. If it occurred on a school day, I could barely focus in class thinking of all the candy I would get that evening or how beautiful my costume was. Usually, when I got off the bus after school I would immediately change into my costume and ask my grandma when my mom would get home, when it would get dark and could we please eat dinner already. I knew after dinner we were able to go out and trick or treat. We wanted to make Halloween special for our students. All six campuses will have their Halloween carnival on Monday, October 31st. Costumes are encouraged, but not mandatory. There will be special fall themed games and crafts for the students to participate in. We will also serve some fresh veggies along with the Scooby Snacks we are offering the students on Monday. We realized with the rush between activities in today's busy world, parents may be making a mad dash to get their children fed before going out and trick or treating in the evening, if your family chooses to take part in Halloween festivities. Feel free to send your child with an extra snack/dinner. We will allow our students to eat a meal around 5:00, if they brought one. All campuses do not have access to a microwave, so check with your campus Lead before providing something from home that will need to be heated. I am so excited to stop by the campuses on Monday and see the silly, spooky and beautiful costumes!
